Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Appt Jobs service, including our chatbot and messaging channels (one of which is WhatsApp), our website at www.apptjobs.com, and related services (together, the "Service"), operated by Appt Jobs Limited ("Appt", "we", "us", "our").

By accessing or using the Service, including by starting a free trial or messaging our chatbot, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Who can use the Service

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. By using it, you confirm that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate and current.

3. What the Service does

Appt is a personal job search service. We provide tailored job alerts and career resources (including interview tips, study materials, CV and cover-letter guidance, and career counselling), and we help you choose and apply a job-search strategy suited to your goals.

Important: Appt is a tool that improves your chances; it is not an employment agency and we do not guarantee that you will receive interviews, job offers, or employment. Hiring decisions are made solely by employers. Any references to success rates or outcomes are illustrative and not promises of results.

4. Accounts and onboarding

To use the Service you complete a short onboarding process. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account and device secure. You must notify us promptly of any unauthorised use of your account.

5. Free trial

We may offer a free trial (currently 2 days). At the end of the trial, continued access requires a paid subscription. We may change or withdraw the free trial at any time. Where the trial cannot be fully delivered for reasons within our control, we will use reasonable efforts to make it good.

6. Subscriptions, pricing and payment

• The Service is offered on a subscription basis. Current plans, strategies, and prices are shown in the Service or on our website and may be priced by experience level, strategy, or package.
• Prices are stated in Nigerian Naira (₦) unless otherwise indicated and may be inclusive or exclusive of applicable taxes as stated at checkout.
• Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor. By subscribing, you authorise the applicable charge for your selected plan.
• We may change our prices and plans. Changes will not affect the plan you have already paid for during its current term; they will apply on renewal or to new purchases.

7. Renewals and cancellation

If your plan renews automatically, it will continue for successive periods until you cancel. You may cancel at any time through the chatbot or by contacting hello@apptjobs.com; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period. You can stop receiving alerts at any time by messaging STOP.

8. Refunds

Except where required by applicable law or expressly stated in a specific plan or promotion (for example, a stated guarantee or refund condition), subscription fees are non-refundable once a paid period has begun. Any plan-specific guarantee applies only on the exact terms stated for that plan.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.
• Provide false, misleading, or impersonated information.
• Share, resell, or redistribute job data, resources, or your account access without our permission.
• Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, reverse-engineer, scrape, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems.
• Use the Service to send spam or to harass employers, recruiters, or other users.

We may suspend or terminate access for any breach of these Terms.

10. Third-party platforms and links

The Service is delivered across several channels, one of which is WhatsApp (provided by Meta Platforms), and may rely on or link to other third-party services. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party platforms, and disruptions to any single channel (including platform bans or outages) may affect that channel but not necessarily the whole Service.

11. Intellectual property

The Service, including its content, software, branding, and the "Appt" name and logo, is owned by Appt Jobs Limited or its licensors and is protected by applicable laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your personal job search. You retain ownership of the content you submit (such as your CV), and you grant us a licence to use it solely to provide the Service to you.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including as to accuracy of job listings, fitness for a particular purpose, and uninterrupted availability. Job listings are sourced from various places and may change or expire without notice.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Appt Jobs Limited and its officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of opportunity, employment, profits, or data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Appt Jobs Limited from any claims, losses, or expenses arising out of your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms.

15. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity) will survive.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by other reasonable means and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria, without prejudice to any right to seek resolution through good-faith negotiation or, where agreed, mediation or arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria.
